Yes, we're English and its our favourite topic, but down here in Provence the sunshine tends not to disappoint. We have over 300 days of sun each year, and although it gets rather chilly in the winter months its rare to have any length of time when we cant ride out in the dry. As the BBC weather site puts it: "Here summers are warm, or even hot, with a three-month period when rain rarely falls. Sunshine is abundant, as much as eleven to twelve hours a day in summer and five in midwinter."

Outside of May to September we recommend you bring some warm riding gear, and in December through March maybe some waterproofs as well (its rare we get rain all day anytime through the year).

The biggest problem to riding we get from the weather is the famous 'Mistral' - the wind which whistles down from the north and then runs along the coast to Spain. Tradition here says it blows for 3, 6 or 9 days, and it can come at any time of the year. Although it blows hard and can make riding less pleasant, it tends to be very localised and we can usually find somewhere which is calm to head for.
